Celebrate Sisterhood in Style: Your Ultimate Galentine’s Day Itinerary in Richmond
Since 2010, women have been reframing love in February. No longer is it simply the month of romance reserved for those in relationships, but rather, it’s increasingly for the girls. Galentine’s Day, a day made famous by the television show, Parks and Recreation, is a day (usually February 13) dedicated to celebrating the bonds of friendship between women. In honor of Galentine’s Day, we’re sharing some of our favorite ways to spend a day with our girls in Richmond.
Start your day bright and early by moving your body with purpose. Check out a yoga class at Guiding Tree Yoga, pilates at Niche Pilates, or walk along the river at Brown’s Island.
After you’ve moved your body or slept in (to each her own), it’s time for a delicious brunch at one of Richmond’s local restaurants. Everyone knows that the best days with the girls start with brunch, and Richmond has no shortage of charming eateries. Grab a table at Lillie Pearl, Moore Street Café (and check out their 10 options for pitchers of mimosas!), SB’s Lakeside Loveshack, perennial Richmond brunch favorite, Millie’s or their sister restaurant LuLu’s, or treat yourselves with the Sunday Champagne Brunch at The Jefferson.
Post-brunch, indulge in some retail therapy. Meander through Carytown with must-visits like Pop of Confetti, Mamie’s Apothecary, Roan, and Lineage; explore the Arts District with stops at Quirk Gallery and Verdalina; or head to Short Pump and visit Tweed, Very Ashley, and Erma Jean.
To wrap up your day, find a fun activity to enjoy together. Leisurely sip tea and treats at the Queens Library Tea Room; make sweet memories with an ice cream-making class at Sweet Wynns; savor a cheese class or tasting at Truckle Cheesemongers; a flower arrangement class with The Freckled Flower Farm; or explore the city with an RVA TukTuk tour of your choice.
Looking for something to give the girls who mean the most to you? Try a love-ly cosmetic bag from lovevolve; a heartfelt petite painting from Gild and Ash; the Wish Me Love bracelet from Emily Ward Designs; or the most luxurious chocolate bar from Miss Maude’s.
